FAIRBURN — The Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy Chargers impressed at the Region 3 A-Private Track and Field Championships held at Landmark Christian School earlier this week.
Justin Menard blitzed the field in the 100-meter and the 200-meter, winning region titles with times of 10.47 and 21.87, respectively. He also won the long jump with a distance of 20 feet, 3 inches.
Menard was also part of the region champion 4x100-meter relay team, alongside Nate McCollum, Khaleb Hood and Keaton Mitchell and the 4x400-meter relay team of alonside Nate McCollum, Khaleb Hood and Felix Uadiale.
Sean Queen won an individual region title in the triple jump with a time of 42 feet, 6.75 inches. He also finished fourth in the long jump. Keaton Mitchell qualified for sectionals in the 100-meter (10.96) and the 200-meter (22.71). Devon Dorsey finished as the region runner-up in the high jump with a distance of 5 feet, 10 inches.
Thaddeus Underwood qualified individually with a third-place finish in the 400-meter (51.29), as did Daniels in the 300-meter hurdles (41.45). Jacob Belin was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.78.
The Lady Chargers were led by Jasmine Senter and Samantha Mitchell, who each won two individual region titles. Senter topped the field in the 100-meter (12.44) and the 200-meter (25.93), while Mitchell won the 100-meter hurdles (17.07) and the 300-meter hurdles (47.91).
The 4x100-meter relay team of Senter, Mitchell, Kayland Thomason and Reagan Johnson finished first with a time of 4:12.95. Thomason qualified individuals in the 400-meter with a time of 1:00.84.
