MCDONOUGH — The brackets for the Class A-Private basketball tournament were released Tuesday. Both Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy squads discovered their first opponents.
The Lady Chargers finished as the N0. 11 team following an 18-7 regular season. They will host the No. 22 seed, Mount Paran Christian, Friday at 6 p.m. in the opening round. Mount Paran went 13-11 during the regular season.
If ELCA is able to beat Mount Paran, a matchup with No. 6 Wesleyan looms in the second round. Wesleyan was one of eight teams to receive a bye during the first round.
ELCA’s boys were awarded the No. 2 seed after winning the Region 5 A-Private championship and finishing with an overall record of 25-3. The Chargers will await the winner of No. 15 Wesleyan and No. 18 Athens Academy, who will play this weekend in a first-round game.
