ATLANTA — The Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy Chargers advanced to the Region 5 A-Private championship after topping Drew Charter 70-56 in the semifinals Friday night.

Malachi Rhodes led the Chargers in the victory with 21 points and 15 rebounds to earn the victory. Mekhi Cameron added 19 points and six rebounds.

“I am so proud of these guys. God is so good,” ELCA head coach Derrick Mason said. “When I think about all of the sacrifices and the commitment it has taken to get tot this point — it makes all of the hard work worthwhile. Making history by advancing to the region championship game for the first time in school history is a significant achievement. Despite that fact, we must remain humble and hungry and committed to our process of getting one percent better every single day to accomplish our ultimate goal of competing for a state championship.”
